Melissa Chambers

Melissa earned her B.S. in Earth and Environmental Science from Montclair State University in New Jersey in May 2017, where she worked on the Sterling Forest Granite sheets. For her M.S., she is working on mineral and fluid inclusions in K-feldspar megacrysts in the Cathedral Peak unit of the Tuolumne Intrusive complex.

Louis Oppenheim

Louis got his B.S. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he worked on several petrology and geochronology projects. For his M.S., he is working on single mineral geochemistry of feldspars to determine magma mush body size and interconnectivity in the Tuolumne Intrusive Complex. For more information, check out Louis' website.

Cullen Scheland

Cullen joined us from Lafayette College, where he received his B.S. in Geology in May 2017. Cullen worked on a REU project led by Calvin Miller at Vanderbilt to study different aspects of the Peach Spring tuff. For his M.S., he is investigating the Jack Main intrusive suite in Yosemite National Park.

Dustin Williams

Dustin joined us from San Jose State University in Fall 2015. He completed his B.S. degree in petrology with Dr. Ellen Metzger and worked with Dr. Jonathan Miller on magmatic geochemistry projects. He is interested in deciphering magma processes in the Kuna Crest unit of the Tuolumne Intrusive Complex using field observations and whole rock and single mineral geochemistry.
