Aly (Alejandra) Angulo

Aly, an LSAMP scholar, is mapping and collecting enclave samples in the Jack Main Intrusive Complex in collaboration with graduate student Cullen Scheland. Her goal is to petrologically characterize the enclave populations in the different units of the Jack Main intrusion using field observations, petrography, CL imaging and XRF geochemistry.

John Ayers

John is working on the Half Dome granodiorite of the Tuolumne Intrusive complex in Yosemite National Park. He is conducting field mapping and geochemistry to learn more about how extensive magma mushes are at the emplacement level and which magma processes are responsible for compositional variations found.

Sabrina Green

For her senior thesis, Sabrina is working on a volcanic-plutonic section exposed in a pendant of the Sierra Nevada batholith. She is applying U-Pb zircon geochronology and geochemistry to determine the temporal and geochemical connection in this cross section of a magma plumbing system.

Celeste Flores

Celeste is conducting U-Pb zircon geochronology, petrography and XRF geochemistry on a set of samples from the Tarana intrusive complex, part of the Bathurst batholith, in the Lachlan fold-and-thrust belt in Australia.

Desiree Marshall

Desiree is working on a volcanic-plutonic connection project in Yosemite National Park. Desiree will be analyzing volcanic and plutonic rocks to determine their temporal and geochemical relationship.
